I just swapped out my dash and I now have a left over plug that I cannot find where it would go to. My stock boost gauge no longer works (use it to monitor voltage) after the swap. I was thinking the plug was for the stock radio setup but I may be wrong.

It's found behind the radio and has a blue back piece.

Well I feel the fool now, I found out the plug goes in the back of the rear wiper. Still have the gauge problem however.

What's up with the gauges? ;3 Don't do like I did on my N/T and swap one of the leads that ground onto the battery. You get no dash lights, headlights, interior lights, nothing. Haha. Car will run though.

So the plug was behind the radio, yet you found that it plugs in to the rear wiper? WTF that makes no sense.

It plugs into the rear wiper switch next to your center vents in the dash. It was just dangling down behind the radio.:thumb:

I forgot to plug it it when I swapped dashes. You need to unplug it to get the dash out.

As for the gauge, it just stopped working when I put this dash on. All the plugs that I can see are plugged in too. Its not the end of the world if it doesn't work but it would be nice. If I can or find it I'll put in a real oil pressure gauge in there instead. I really would like to find the problem however.

I have this thread too that needs to get looked at :p

I would check for continuity between the gauge cluster connector and the ecu on the Boost Gauge wire (pin 16).

If the circuit is open, then I'd check for continuity between the gauge cluster connector and the connector behind the radio that the wire passes through (forget which one this is off hand). It's one of the four connectors that are clipped onto a metal bracket below/behind the radio.

I do believe I found my problem. Pin #2 from the bottom is for the boost gauge. Picture one is my stock dash and picture 2 is the swapped dash.

You know, that's a good question. I'm honestly not sure and that would make sense. I had a gut feeling to just swap harnesses over when they were both out. I think I should be able to run a wire and steal a connector pin from the other harness.

I just need to verify the wire plug and it's pin on the harness.

Boost gauge is the white connector behind the radio. It's wire color is red and a black line. It is also a single silver dash (not dual dash). Row closest to you, it's the 4th pin from the right.

Oddly enough, I have a wire in that pin location on the end of the harness just not on the cluster side.

I'll get that looked up. I have it sittin in the garage. I swapped my original vin plate on there.

Th vin plate is off a non turbo. Just decoded it but not all letters are making sense.

I got the gauge working. Since the dash was for a NT the plugs were pinned differently. As you can see from the above picture. I ended up running a new wire for where the boost gauge pin would be to the connector behind the radio. I wired it up according to the wires from the stock dash.

To my dismay it did not work at first. I took another look and realized the connectors behind the dash were pinned differently as well too.

I then did com comparisons and the NT plug had many more wires going to it and the front bank of wires are unused on the plug where it connects. The wire I tapped into was the correct color as the turbo dash wire but the lead went to an empty connection.

I figured out the one I needed to use was being used by the blue wire with a yellow stripe which happens to match one of the "?" on the pin lay out posted above.

I pulled that pin out and switched them so the one for the boost gauge was in the connector. Turned the car on and now the gauge is working how it used to!

The VIN from the dash is

Here's the info on the vin:

At this point I would just yank the dash again and swap your stock harness on...

I do believe I'll be swapping dashes now. I have to solder on a plug I stole and fix a pin but other than thar it should be a lot easier than trying to find out where all these issues go to.

Does anyone know where the stock oil pressure gauge wire leads to on the harness? On my stock harness and the Avenger harness I cannot find a pin that has continuity with the connector st the cluster. I've tried every pin on every connector and nothing. This is with both harnesses.

I have a new sender as well and its still not working.

Is it a single pin/wire at the cluster and where does it lead to at the harness connectors as I may just run a new wire for that.

The oil pressure gauge wire goes from the sender through the driver's side opening (under the fender) to a white connector with a blue clip (8 position) in the area near the interior fuse box, then to pin 40 on my gauge cluster diagram. The wire is yellow/black.

The VIN from the dash is
4b3au42y7we134342

By any chace, is this vin # from a 97-98 Talon? My buddy crashed his 2ga Talon this past week and he's trying to call Chrysler to see if they can supply him with 97-98 Talon bumper (doesn't look too promising), but they NEED a 2gb Talon VIN first.

Thanks

Yea I saw that. So it's NOT a Talon VIN? He just grabbed the dash from a Sebring/Avenger?

Got dash pulled in under an hour. Swapping wires now and the. I'll try to locate the oil pressure wire. I just don't understand how it's not making contact anywhere on any plugs and it would need to being connected to the dash

My 2gb talon vin is ...

Gauge cluster to that pin is non conductive on both harnesses.

I am now swapping harnesses beteeen dashes. Had do cut and solder some things as I stole a connector from the turbo harness. Should t take much longer at all and I'll then try to diagnose the oil pressure gauge issue some more.

I feel that I could charge someone now and pull their dash off for them for a moderate fee haha.

No problem John

Well I got everything swapped over a while ago. Everything works as it should. I'm still with out a light on the boost gauge but that may just be a bad bulb now. I'm not too concerned about it as I doont need to relie on it.

I has to pull some stuff of a couple of time due to rushing and plugs got pinched up in the dash and similar. Just need to put the gray dash back together and I'm all done.
