what is this? pic inside

ok so i took this pic from another thread... see how the guy is holding this wire? well right were his left pointer finger is there is a black connection that connects with it clipping together... well on my car i have the left part of the wire and nothing to the left... mine isnt connected and also just hanging there... anyone know what this can cause?

It's a noise-suppression capacitor for the sound system.

It should have a metal tang with a bolt hole.So it can be bolted to the little bolt hole in the intake manifold.Just above your index finger knuckle in the picture.I was told by Rob at Extreme that it can cause a 2g tach to malfunction.Buy a new one so you can bolt it down and ground it.

Having never run without one, I honestly can't say. I doubt they threw them in just to smuggle them past customs, though.
