As the title says, I'm looking for easiest way that does not involve disconnecting power at the fuel pump (FWD).

Thanks,

take the fuel rail off and removie injectors.

discontect the fuel pump assebly from the rest of the fuel line.

But the easist would just be to cut the fuel line.

Why do you need to do this? what are you doing

the best way is either pull fuel pump relay or unplug the fuel pump under the seat, then start car till it dies.

LOL, i like cutting the fuel line, easier to me.. He said easiest not the best :D

Also i wouldnt run my car out of gas on purpose.

Okay, guys. First, thanks for the answers. What I'm doing is changing the fuel line from the stock filter to the fuel rail (I'm getting a kit from DSMparts.com). The reason I am doing this is I cut the stock fuel line when I installed an inline fuel pump. Now that I have my Walbro installed, I want to replace that line.

Now, when I cut into it the first time, and then when I removed the inline, I opened the fuel cap as my father-in-law said it would relieve the pressure. Needless to say, I had fuel come out, which I caught with a rag and bucket after most of it spilled out into the engine bay. It wasn't pleasant, obviously, so this time, I don't want to go through that again.

Where is the fuel pump relay? Is that the MPI fuse? This sounds like the easiest probably.

That is something you are supposed to do to relieve you fuel lines of gas and pressure when installing a fuel pump. Disconnect the power to the pump, then start the car. When it dies, you can disconnect the lines w/o getting fuel all over. :thumb:

i pull the MPI fuse everytime, and still have fuel leak out.... i just say F it..... its just a little fuel that wil evaporate by the time im done anyway.... mpi fuse is on the postive battery post, that little block of 3 fuses....

I always just put some rags under the line, then take it off.

Plus all that fuel cleans crap off your hands real good :thumb: .

If you want to do it the right way, just unplug the fuel pump fuse and let it run till it dies.
