You don't have to remove anything to do the valve cover gasket that would cause you to have to bleed off the pressure.

its what the chiltons manual says< relieve fuel pressure... i mean just take the pvc and the sensor off and it comes right up??? whatts bout sparkplugs n wires?

Remove the 10mm bolts holding the valve cover and timing cover on.
Remove the spark plug wires.
Remove the PCV hose.
Gently remove the valve cover.
The valve cover is aluminum and it VERY easy to break. When re-tighting it I wouldn't use anything bigger than a 1/4" ratchet. I usually just do a little over hand tight.

Use a gasket. Do not use an RTV for this.

You want to use gray RTV around the half moon seal and around the cam caps and corners to assure there are no leaks. Otherwise, purchase a new valve cover gasket, which will come with the spark plug well gaskets too, and install. Tighten the bolts up just to the point where you can see the gasket starting to compress. Any tighter and you run the risk of pinching the gasket and/or breaking the valve cover.

ok almost done but now i found the reason the old vc gasket was leaking<

3 of the corner srews and 1 gear cover threads are stripped and the 10mm bolt just slides in WILL NOT TIGHTEN can easily take back out with fingers

now how to rethread them<>?
