what is the easiest way to install the transfer case it was easy to remove but its a pain to put it in by myself.....anything you tried that made it easier it should spline right in right?
its the same tranny and transfer cas as before didnt swap any of them:toobad:

Yes sir, should slide right in. Which side are you having trouble with? Grease up the tail and the DS a little bit if it's on that side. If it's on the tranny side, just get it up there and level it, then slide it over.

what did you guys us to lift it because its pretty heavy

I just laid on the floor with it on my chest until I was under the car enough to reach up and put it on the tranny. Granted I'm a small guy haha. I'm 19 and I weigh 140 at 5'10. I don't have a ton of muscle on me. but its not as bad as you think. But having a friend can really help out!!

o ok i have been trying it like that but it wont completely go in i think just half way maybe i just have to push it in harder

its really tricky because it only goes in like half way maybe i just have to push it in harder who knows....ill keep trying it like that see ### happens...i tought some people here used a jack or sumthing to make it easier

When I put my T/C back on I slapped alittle grease on the spline shaft on the tranny. after it was on about halfway I had to rock it a bit and push, but BE CAREFUL IF YOUR ON JACKSTANDS!! If that doesnt work than take a wirebrush to the shaft and spray some Free All, or PB Blaster, or whatever penetrating oil you have on it. That should do the trick, and if that doesn't work than have one person hold the T/C up and rock it while the other pushes. Hope this helped!! :thumb:

....not something I'd want to be doing in Alaska. I know how cold my garage floor can be, and I'm a bit more south than you!

How cold is it there right now, anyways?

dude you must live in the stone age! Don't you have a heated garage?? And actually...yea I guess the floor can be cold...But at the time....I had the music a-blastin, beer being handed down to me by my buddies ( but don't tell anyone I can't drink yet ) And laying on the ground covered in oil stains and grease. The floor was probably like 40 degrees and right now its about ooooohh like 20 degrees

My shop's heated, but the concrete floor can be super-cold no matter how warm the air in the garage can be. If I had to do it again, the floor would be heated.

20?WTF Man it's 28 here right now, and forecasted to be 13 by morning. I'm moving to Alaska.....that way at least the cold temps would be expected instead of unwelcome!
