I want an Evo shift knob for my eclipse and i can only find one place on the net that sells them. Does anyone have a stock leather evo shift knob they are willing to part with? Does anyone know where i can find other evo shift knobs for sale on the net? :thumb:

I know machv.com sells them. Check ebay maybe? I wanted one too. But then I found a knob out of a galant and I love it.

check out MachV. They also have the leather 2g knob on there for real cheap that is nice. I have the EVO knob on my car and love it. Looks great, and looks like it could came with the car because it doesn't have MOMO or sumthin written across the top.

Those are nice, but i want the Evo shift knob really bad and i dont want to spend that much. 70 Bucks is pretty pricey from machV :thumbdown

Yeah, I just checked out their wares, and I believe that they sell at retail. I don't know specifically about shift knobs, but I checked out the boost controllers, and it's definitely retail with those. :thumbdown

I don't really like the Evo 8 shift knobs, they remind me of a baseball or something. I think I'm getting this...

got a 1998 gst spyder, and the shift knob is so high, has ne one tried cuttin the metal rod? u wud eliminate the screw on options, cuz the threads wont be there ne more, but most after market shift knobs have alan rench screws that grip the rod....iwud this work?? cuttin it?whose done it??

try not to get allen key screw knobs they come loose all the time and make for sloppy shifts... if u don't wanna buy a short shifter the options is to cut the shifter into 3 piece... cut out the middle t oa desired lenght then weld the top and bottom back together so u still retain the threads... VFAQ has an article on this

These are screw ons right, or are they the universial crap?

Also having a shiftknob like you asked for wont shorten your overall throw. Yes it may make the actual shifter not so high, but height is not throw. If you want a shorter throw then get a short shifter because it shortens the actual throw of the shifter, not the height. I just thought I'd clearify that for you.

i actually just happend to do this. what i did was cut the rod all the way down to about an inch about where you screw it into the rest of the shifter. youll find that the rod is hollow. i took a 3/8" stock steel rod and welded it into the hollow part. i used a thiner rod than the stock one becuase the stock rod was tapered and my knob wouldnt go down as far as i wanted it to. i then just cut the 3/8" rod to how high i wanted it then put it back together. my shifter is now about 2 inches shorter than it was, at least.
