What is the best shift knob

Well i hate to say it you wasted your money and it will probably wobble while it's on and make shifting very sloppy. Return it and spend the money on a Greddy counterweight or spend it on a Evo8 shift knob, that's what i have and i love it!

it was 10 dollars at auto zone.....looked nice.....so i bought it for a cheap price.....havn't had any problems shifting yet......just the lights.....why buy the name brand when you can get one for 10 dollars

bunch of haters..I didn't ask for comments on the brand....jsut wanted to someone to tell me how to get them to change

I hate ricers just as much as the next person but theres no need to get stupid because he bought some type of mod you don't like...he just asked a simple question..

Now...it is possible your other colors are burnt out...maybe you should exchange it back for another one and see if that helps.

i'm looking for an aluminum shift knob (with or without gear pattern) that will screw straight on to a 1g eclipse. i don't care if it's stock from another car or whatever, but i haven't had any luck locating one that doesn't use set screws.

Amazingly, I don't thing the thread's been posted before. It's M10 X 1.25. Honda, Mazda, Nissan and others use it.For future searches: knob thread knob thread pitch knob threads shifter thread shifter threads shifter pitch

that's definately helpful, but i'm kinda curious as to if anyone knows of a car that has a decent brushed aluminum shifter stock. i can't think of any off the top of my head. or, if anyone knows of some aftermarket knobs that actualy screw on. i've searched a lot but to no avail. any help would be appreciated.

Persoanlly I wouldnt go with a metal knob of any sort-

I dont know how hot it gets in Indianna, but I have an aluminum knob from Checker($13) univ. fit and that thing gets damn hot when in the sun(have to shift with a hanky OMG ).

I would go with a leather/alcantra covered or a resin ball-

LOL, i had a chrome skull in my beater pizza runner and it got hot enough i didn't want to touch it sometimes....but i like the feel and the look of a metal knob...not to mention...tint will help with the heat.

I used to have a conversion thingy. Hard to explain, it went in the standard size for the aftermarket set screw ones, it was metal and had holes where the set screws tightened into it and the bottom was threaded.

I cant think of what it was called. I searched a little but didnt find it. Just an idea if you got time to try to search for it

Those guys are great, and make direct fit alloy shift knobs. I have dealt with them before and bought both of their bushing sets and couldnt be more pleased.

The shifter is 32 bucks shipped. Pretty good deal IMO.

Give the threads on the stick a shot of WD-40, wipe it off, blorp some silicone seal into the knob and then install it with the setscrews. You may need a Grip wrench or the like to get it off the next time, but it won't wander in between.

you may wanna think twice about getting a metal shift knob, i just have a generic one from autozone, looks great.. .but hot enough in the summer that you dont even wanna touch it, and thats with tinted windows

i got a razo ra25 it about 340grams (3/4 pounds) that looks really nice but gets hot enough not to touch so i got a crown royal bag and put that over when it gets hot or cold
