What is the best shift knob

I'm not sure you'll find an answer on the forums. Shift knob is pretty personal IMO. One guy might love a stocker's feel, while another might love the feel of a leather ball, and yet another may like the feel of an aluminum stick..

I completely agree with what bhops saying its more of a personal preference on what knob you are using... Everyone has a different feel as to what they like so its more a question of trial and error to see what you like!

I also have a weighted Greddy short shifter. Would highly recommend it, but it takes some getting used to such a short shifter - there is only about 4" of travel between gears which has gotten me into trouble a couple of times.

A stock 2g shift knob is where it's at...
Mach V sells them.

+1 I have a 2g leather shift knob on my 1g and its great. Other people have told me its a 3kgt 5-speed leather shift knob, but i have heard both. Whatever it is, its leatehr, screws right on perfectly, and looks stock without the "Schlong" shifter. Obviously a shorter knob will mean a slightly shorter throw so thats a benifit too. I have had the same shift knob on both of my dsms now and i finally broke a couple of the threads. But it still works great.

What's the deal with weighted shifters?

I've had zero problems shifting quickly on the OEM one.

They make shifting easier. The extra weight helps to put it in gear with less effort. I have a Greddy counter weight shift knob with the new Fidanza short shifter and I love it. :thumb:

I didn't think it was that difficult in the first place.

I think I just might get the ams shift knob. It has a stock look and it is leather.

But is it like the 93 94 leather stock shift knob. I dont like that one because it feels big.

To be honest I like early 90s honda accord leather shift knobs.

+1 for the AMS knob. Just replaced the crappy carbon fiber one that came with my Galant and I love it.

Stock 2G is awesome. Looks factory and is weighted nicely. Metal shifters suck in hot weather, I've had one before it wasn't goodtimes:sosad:

My buddy has a Momo one similar to the Ichabon, I like the way it feels. Another friend made me a shift knob out of an eight ball, cooler looks than practicality, it feels numb.

im lookin for a new knob and was lookin for some ideas and pics. i gotta lose the giant black penis that is in my car right now LOL.
