I am thinking of putting in 280/280 cams. I had 272's on my last DSM and I had BC valve springs and retainers. Is there anything else that is needed for the 280's besides upgraded springs and retainers?

Yes, they say valve springs and retainers are necessary...I was asking if any type of head work needs to be done because of the profile on the cams.

Sorry. I would say so. The website says "intended for fully built engine."

But you might catch some other input. I'm not that engine savvy.

I had a set of BC 280's on a completely stock head. Took it to 7500 every day. I loved the way they sounded but my car is a street car so I swapped them back out for a set of hks 272's. I didn't really care to much for the bc cams as I also had a set of bc272's. Never had a problem out of them though.

I am going with Delta's actually....which are HKS copies. I had their 272s (which are also HKS copies) and they were awesome. My car is street / daily driver.
