Yes, but it is also people talking about how much horsepower or what kind of times a car will run given a particular set up. Basically, any talk of horsepower or ETs that is not backed with data in the form of a time slip or dyno graph.skelly said:"Bench Racing" - An activity indulged in, mainly by guys, of telling, retelling and embellishing stories that have to do with race cars or high performance street cars.

Hopefully though, the people that hang out here will see this and post less threads about bench racing in this forum.

dr1665 said:I think the only time bench racing could be cool would be if you took an actual bench (park or early 70s GM front seat), attached a set of wheels to it, a steering wheel, then painted flames or racing stripes on it, and got some buddies to do the same thing. Then you and your buddies could get all liquored up on a Saturday afternoon, find a big hill in a park somewhere, and race your benches all day long. That would be fun.

Bench Racing is:
Bench racing is defined as posting hypothetical questions to try and see how fast or how powerful your car is or will be. If you want to know what time to expect at the track, or your car can beat another specified car, or how much power it will have with a particular modification (or mod list), then go to the track or the dyno and find out for sure. Do not ask for people to guess in our forums.
Kill Story is:
Any post describing a street race or potential street race and whether you won or lost.
Want to post a kill story from the track, fine.
