hi i recently changes out my calipers and didnt realize that i ran out of brake fluid while trying to bleed the brake lines. (dumb i know) but now my mechanic is saying i should "bench bleed" the master cylinder because he is sure i got air in there. does anyone know how to bench bleed the MC while it is still on my 2G?? i cant seem to find any good help on youtube. please help because i can build up pressure and it will hold for like 3 secs and then its back down to the floor. and i have no problem bleeding thru all of the calipers so i think it is definitely air in the MC can anyone assist please!

If air got into the system - it will eventually travel through the bleeder nipple of one of the calipers when draining it. Whenever I bleed the clutch or brakes - I always have an extra person helping me. I'll have him him pump the brake or clutch three times - hold it down - and then turn the wrench on the bleeder nipple to release the fluid. I'll then turn the wrench to tighten the nipple before he lifts the pedal back up - that way no air gets created. I'll keep repeating the process as necessary while topping off the reservoir when needed as well. This has worked for me all this time so I would give it a shot for the DIY person. Otherwise you can take it into the mechanic and have them pressure bleed it with their machine which pretty much gets rid air all together.

well you have to take the two lines off of the master cylinder and plug them. have someone pump the breaks slowly and watch the bubbles come out of the top. once they are all gone put your lines back on and rebleed the breaks.

I bench bled mine with a brake line I cut in half with the proper size fittings to screw into my m/c and then bent the brake lines with a tubing bender to where they went back into the reservoir. Filled it up with fresh fluid and started pumping until my buddy didn't see bubbles anymore.

Was VERY easy this way as i was debating how to bench bleed mine on the car as well... Took about 2 mins to get it done this way.

I'll try to upload pics of how i did it shortly, was very simple Way to do it after I thought about it for awhile
