What does 7cm2 housing mean?

Like the subject says, I am not sure what 7cm2 means. I have the hot side of my compressor sitting here with part number 78-11830 which is supposed to be 7cm2.

I was just wondering if I could take my dial calipers and measure something that is "7cm2".

It's referencing the scroll/nozzle area.

You can't measure any thing that is 7cm2 cause the two is "squared" meaning area. You would have to have some sweet calipers for that.

You can't measure it, and the housing you have pictured is definitely 7cm.

All 16G's came from the factory with a 7cm housing. If you have one with a 6cm housing on it, someone put it there.

Yours is definitely ported. A little rough, but it gets the job done.

Picture 3 post 1.If you look straight down from the inlet on the housing.The wg hole should not be visable.

Porting opens that up.

As well in the same picture of the inlet.You can clearly see its been modified.The stock casting is supposed to be all smoothe..As you can see, yours is not all smoothe like that.
