strange looking turbo. No clue about the oil lines but you will need a custom o2 housing with the same bolt pattern (best to just have a shop make you once) since you will also need some custom work to your manifold because you will need to install an external wastegate on it. As that turbo DOES NOT have an internal wastegate option.

Personally I would either try to re-sell the turbo, get your money back, or just take it as a loss and get a standard type DSM turbo (50 trim, 16g) whatever for the power range your looking for. That turbo looks to be well used, it will need a lot of custom work (o2 housing/external on the manifold) + oil stuff.

What kind of turbo did the guy tell you it was?

EDIT: Just noticing the exhaust side entrance looks to be t3/t4 style. This may not bolt up to a stock DSM exhaust manifold, and if it does will probably hurt the flow seeing as the DSM manifold has a round exit hole to the turbo and not a square one. Add 400+$ for a t3/t4 manifold to your cost.

The divided hotside right away tells me it's a t4 turbo. It's more work to put it on but I say go for it. If t4 is what your looking for it's not going to be easy anyway.....

i've got a tubular exhaust mani w/ external wastegate flange so i'm halfway there

But is it a t4 manifold? If not the exit hole is the wrong shape.. I dont know if the bolt pattern will line up? anyone?

And all the custom work that is needed for the downpipe/o2 just doesnt seem worth it. What if you want to upgrade to something bigger/more standard in the future? Gonna have to do the BS all over again.

Not really much to upgrade to from a t4 and then the frames don't change much. He's got the perfect turbine housing, all he needs for an O2 housing is pipe radiused down to a down pipe.

Easy breazy...

I don't know if anyone else noticed, but that's a reverse rotation turbo. It's most likely not worth the headache of making it work on a DSM.
How do you mean? Can the compressor housing not be rotated to face downward?

If you say so :) I thought he would need a t3/t4 exhaust manifold also to bolt it up? He never said what size turbo it is..

BS if I say so, it's just how it looks to me. What I meant by perfect turbine housing is that it's flush against the wheel meaning you will have room to put a big three inch pipe for an o2 housing and not run into his oil filter.

And as far as upgrading to say a larger t4, he could replace it at any time for another t4, the same way t3 works.

Although your right, he hasn't mentioned what flange is on his mani.

I guess I see it as easy cause i just got done parting together a full t3 setup, it wouldn't be very different at all for a T4.

Couple custom pieces, but nothing horribly extravegant to get it on there. Off the shelf parts such as o2 housing will NOT be available. I guess the question isn't "will this t4 fit?" as much as "do I really need a t4..."

There are better turbo's out there.

I suppose my even posting in this thread, or participating the way I have is all in gest. To be clearer, I would never pursue putting that turbo on my car, nor would I advise it. The pay off is simply not there and is a fools errand.
