What do you think of my dyno day!

So I make one sarcastic remark and I'm an ass? Why don't you take a look at ALL of SBR's posts and call them an ass for ever sarcastic remark they made. Or you can just not post unless you have something that contributes to the thread.

You should listen to your own advice, hipocrite.

GVR ....... I did what you told me to do, I checked for leaks, I have none, I made the adjustments you told me to make, I posted the logs, besides for the boost leak comment, I have not been told anything else that i should do to improve my tune on either of my posts.

HELP....anyone

well, by the way you are talking, I do not have to adjust my fuel anymore, correct, the fuel is where i need it to be, you are just thinking it is more then likely some reclusive boost leak because of o2 voltages?

are you talking about what i said? i'm confused.. plus I don't get what you're saying in this statement anyway :p

AFPR should be right around 41 psi base anyway.

The numbers are not that bad really although, personally, I think this particular tune was too aggressive (too lean) for the octane of gas in use. It's evident that the car was not liking it (by knock) and the pull of timing. That could have easily been 320-330whp. I suggest you buy a wideband before playing with that AFC. :nono:

i think you guys are just looking to hard @ my question here....LOL

All I want to know is if I need to do any further adjusting with my SAFC2 according to my timing curve and o2 voltages.

OR

The next thing I SHOULD do to improve my cars performance.

Thks

I'd like to dyno at 22 psi.. I guess we'll see in the near future when my car is running agian

22psi isn't a bad number for the street, but when you're trying to make the most out of a turbo; you can't leave that extra 6psi hangin and expect to max out the turbo. Either way good luck with your 50 trim.

You have once again made me cringe.

he meant you shouldn't tune by o2 voltage.. because it is a 1v narrowband.. versus using a wideband o2 (5v) which will give you a much much more accurate reading of your AF.

and when I say shouldn't.. doesn't mean you can't.. just don't trust it too much ;)

well where there are now, are they good or bad!!!!
Thats a tricky question you have there!!!!!!!!

It's like sticking your hand in water and guessing the temperature, a crap shoot.

boy let the rep point fly  , besides you guys telling me i need a 300 wideband :barf: , which SBR had and still could not get the tune right :notgood: according to my timing, i am still up a creek without a paddle as far as my tune is concerned ROFL .

Like Mike said, if you think you can do better, do it and run his dyno; prove him wrong and he'll pay for the dyno time.

PS Good luck having a tuning competition with someone that tunes hundreds of cars every year.

Kudos on your ability to keep this reigned in to an adult thread. You seem to be ignoring most of the anger going on in this thread and are trying to stick to your original post of getting more power. As far as your tuning questions, I am much too much of a tuning noob to get involved in all that. From what I can see, you numbers seemed to show that you were running a bit lean and you were pulling some timing.

But in answer to the above question; dsmlink, dsmlink, dsmlink. I am currently using it in the wife's 96 Spyder and it is very user friendly. I can guarrantee that you will up you horsepower and the folks on dsmlink.com are VERY friendly and helpful. I can't say that I have seen any smokin' or bashin' on the site (of course I only look on the tuning part).
Good luck,
MB

NEW LOG

Details: I have decided to put in the stock heat range plug to see how it runs because I was getting deeply carboned plugs with the NGK one step colder plugs, all adjustments on the SAFC2 where left alone, tom I plan on pulling the stock heat range plugs and seeing how they look. Here is the log I ran ton with those plugs and the fuel left the same.

rpm tim o2

3028 24 .96

3328 24 .94

3692 20 .96

4120 16 .98

4756 14.98

5316 10 1.00

5844 10 1.00

6344 15 1.00

6820 14 .96

7244 13 .96

From this do you guys think I should go back to the other plugs, also I just found that all my other logs where only reaching MAX 91% @ full throttle because of TPS, readjusted so I reaches 100% now, these are all @ 100%

O2's indicate rich (although I'm well aware of how they shouldn't be used for tuning)

Timing looks awful. When do you hit full boost?

I have to sit back and agree with the people who say it looks like you have a boost leak.

There's a hell of a lot more to "tuning" than cranking up the boost and fiddling with your knobs (AFC that is) If it was that easy everybody would be driving 12 second or faster DSM's. Don't just focus on the turbo and your A/F ratio. You have to check EVERY SINGLE COMPONENT of your entire system and make sure it is working properly and in sync with everything else. And by the time you get to doing that the first thing you checked has gone bad and you start all over. It's never ending.

I made 267whp and 285wtq (add 20% for the drivetrain loss and that's 320 flywheel HP) last month on the 14B and I rarely move the AFC more than a few clicks. I have found WAY more power elsewhere and it's taken me many years of trial and error to get it this far. But you have to take a systems approach to it not a component approach. It's tedious and unglamourous but that's where you'll reap the biggest rewards.
