Just what to see what everyone thinks of my new build, that I'm still building.. I have the rods and pistons already and they are installed in the block.

ACL Race "Tri-Metal"...Rods and Mains

K1 Forged H-Beam

JE Forged Pistons .40 over

Cometic Head Gasket

APR Studs Heads & Mains

Ferrea Valve Locks

Brian Crower Valve Spring & Retainer

Brian Crower Cams 280/280

Brian Crower Cam Gears

HKS Timing Belt (More For looks)

ARP Flywheel Bolt Kit

Fidanza Flywheel

FIC 1150cc Injectors

Im up for any suggestions that could make it better but not more money Im running low on that now!!

Thanks for looking!!

Start off small first.

Valve locks are valve locks so the OEM ones will be fine to use. Why are you going 40 over on the pistons? Is the block already bored 30 over from the previous build? Not too sure how K1 is but if you need strong affordable rods look into Eagle H-beams. They are rated for up to 700hp and have been pushed further than that.

What is your reasoning for going with "280" cams and why BC? Do you like the lift and duration better of their cams over competitors? Just to warn you, if a kevlar belt gets oil on it it's strongly advised to replace it shortly after.

You'll be fine using OEM flywheel bolts and is this a 6 bolt or 7 bolt build? What turbo will you be running and what tuning software, expected boost levels on turbo and what are your goals? Make sure that BOTH the head and block are resurfaced if you are using a MLS head gasket.

Like I stated, you really need to tell us your goals and what you want to do to give you a better answer as just listing parts that may not work well with each other doesn't help with giving you an answer.

i think you should go felpro 6 layer headgasket and also go kiggly springs and retainers not bc! and also kelford cams no bc, had bad luck with bc products your welcome to try them if you want but got rid of all mine!

goal is to put 405awhp and not upgrading turbo yet and not sure of the software..

And like i said the shortblock is done!! already .40 and ready have rods and pistons in.

As far as valve locks I'm Building my motor so everything is going to be build. Flywheel bolts are just because i have no clue just because LOL. I not new to the motor building.

and the motor is a 1g 7bolt.

Im still looking for a tuning system. I plain to run e85.

BC just because of the price and this is the first time i have hurd anything bad about them. and 280 for more lift.

I have a turbo in mind but i still need to research and make sure that this one is in a good part of the efficiency island. but heres the turbo.

EXTREME PSI : Your #1 Source for In Stock Performance Parts - Precision T & E SCM4431R Ball Bearing Turbocharger : Mitsubishi Eclipse 90-99 (565 HP)

thats with a .63 a/r

and im thinking about dsm link as far as tuning. because the 97-99 reflash doesn't want you to go over like 700 inj's so im taking ideas on that forsure

If you want 400awhp you should look into the HX35. It's a very streetable turbo with spool just a little slower than the a 16g but with way more kick.

I'd like to know WHY you went .040 over on the bore as that's crazy unless it was already at .030 over. You'll either need custom pistons or sleeve the block when it would come time for a new rebuild.

Well get whatever valve locks you want as they are the same darn thing. Most people don't exactly buy new ones unless their old ones are bad. I'm reusing my old ones on my build so take it for what it's worth.

So you want more lift, so you understand how cams work then as it shifts your power band further up on the RPM scale then right? Do you plan or revving out to 9k rpm? Remember, bigger isn't always better.

Look into Delta camshaft.. Also check with supporting vendors for any sales if you want affordable prices.

ECMlink is a good choice to run you'll just need to locate a '95 EPROM ECU for it. As for the the 98/99 flashable ECU, it will do what ever you want it to do for the most part and I haven't heard of injector limitations on it either.

So why did you go with a 1g 7bolt? Why didn't you go with a 6 bolt?

Make sure you get an OEM oil pump and consider a balance shaft elimination on it. OEM (not dorman or the like) harmonic balancer or go the ATI or Fluidamper route The water pump doesn't need to be OEM so that will save you a couple bucks as well.

What do you plan for with your fuel setup as you want to run E85? Going to run the stock MAF or go with a GM MAF or the speed density route?

i guess the bc products are hit or miss, cus i have installed them on 3 of my buddys cars, 2 dsms and a cobra, they all are still running strong and they all love them, i wouldnt worry about the bc products, they seem to be strong to me, maybe the other guy just got a bad batch or maybe it was just coinsidence that they took a shit, looks good man, did your hw i can see

I went .40 because thats the only way to save the block.

And thanks for the tuning advice the 98/99 is just what i hurd so i was just wondering really. and thanks for the turbo ill look in to it.

I plain on getting the GM maf

And i have the oil pump already its the oem.

water pump is from a parts store.y

And my block is just what i have so thats why there didnt really want to buy a new one.

I also understand about the 280.

tsk tsk you should of went with a 6-bolt. You wouldn't believe how many people on oem rebuilds hit your goal of 400hp. Correct me if I am wrong but isn't a stock 4g good for a little over 400 hp?
I am a bit confused of why you went the route you did when you could have done it easier.
I am sure you can get a little bit more out of your build than 400 horsepower.

Cometic?
I'd deff go with Mitsu OEM MLS headgasket.
Like people have said, the 6-bolt has been pushed over 400 stock.
With a good ass tune that is.
idk if i missed something, but will this be a track or street car?

The 4g64 is the same cast as the 4g63, but .06" over ;) . These have been pushed to over 600whp. There's nothing wrong with .04" over.

I was just looking in to SD and I think that is the way im going to go. And its street/Strip. As far as the head gasket have the Mitsu OEM MLS headgasket been pushed hard and do i have to worry about it blowing out?

For your application I would say a mitsu MLS gasket should be fine. Just make sure the block and head have been resurfaced.

Don't listen to anyone man. Run what you want to run and enjoy it. .040 over isn't SHIT. I've seen people run .080 over. If anything you're just going to get more displacement which is good IMO. Anyways, 280s are kind of overkill but that's your poison so roll with it. I went with Kelford 272s cause they're nasty but that's just me. All in all you're on the right track and keep doing what you need to do to get your car done!

don't listen to anyone at all here. You shouldn't have even posted

Everything here is bias and opinionated. You need to just do a lot of research and reading and see what works best and go from there. No one has a right answer. Many of goals have been reached in several different ways with several different setups and it's up to you to choose what route you want to go. Some people hit 11s with 14bs and some with 50 trims and so on and so forth. You're probably one of a dozen people that have decided to use K1 and I'll be the first to say more power to you. Do what YOU want. :thumb:
