I put over 200 miles on my spyder today it was great only the 3rd time I have driven this car (First time was 3 days ago). I bought it in 2008. Just finished an awd swap. Still have to work out a few bugs. Ie: power steering leak, possible boost leak, and a few electrical gremlins.
 
Installed speed density on my 1g Tsi. Working out sanity checks and dialing in my fuel trims. Tomorrow we finish and up the Hx 35 to 25 psi and see what happens with wot tuning.
 
took her out for about a 100 mile drive, Found out i had a bad radiator cap (I Think). Move the mounting location of my recovery tank ( I think it was too low). Then I fixed an exhaust leak at the clamp under the down pipe. Then I polished all the intercooler piping, Catch Cans, recovery tank, and everything else i could reach that looked dirty. LOL
 
ripped head off, to find this... What seems to be the problem here?

new pistons, rod bearings, exhaust valves, (hopefully no intake valves) WBO2, mbc, plugs, ordered and head sent to machine shop for further analysis...

Oh yeah, new timing belt also since the Gates RTB snapped after 400 miles causing all this to happen. Tax return my ass. HA! Send my check straight to Extremepsi.com. Back to stock boost till I fork out the $ for V3

Sat in the gas station and told my car that all of the people weren't looking at her because of the ridiculously annoying idle surge with an open downpipe

Torched out the rear mustache bushings... tomorrow the subframe. This is the tail end of deleting the ABS and AWS from my Galant VR4. Figured these 20yr old pos' needed to be replaced while everything is torn down.

Asked her why the previous owner neglected her so much. She answered with a quick acceleration (she loves my maintenance :thumb:)
 
Spent 30 minutes raising my car for smog. I never knew teins were so hard to raise. Smog my car. Threw everything back to stock. Tomorrow I will throw back all my mods in my profile and if it won't rain in cali... wash it since it's been 3 months of cold, rain weather.
 
Today when pulling out I stalled suddenly letting off the clutch cos... the sucker lost 3/4 of its pressure! I freaked out man! I noticed a little bit of fluid inside the clutch cylinder under the dash. And my resevoir was EMPTY! So I bled the clutch and all that and now it's fine for now. Full engagement and feels a bit lighter. I gotta watch it closely for now on.
 
Threw it on the dyno and got it back to making 450 AWHP on e85.
 
Got my car back from the body shop 2 days ago, been working on getting her back together:hellyeah:

Back is almost finished, sorry for the fuzzy pic. Painted the rear spoiler black, not sure what looks better, most agree that it flows better with the roof, I can always change the color back to white I guess.

Getting weird problems with spark, bog, car shakes at idle. Open hood and found that 2 and 3 where switched. I honestly do not know how that happen and I'm not even sure if that matters since the both hit tdc the same time.
 
pulled the VC off, pulled the exhaust manifold off, and thought to myself what the hell makes me wanna keep this car. came in house and looked at a turbo civic hatch and thinking im gonna trade.
 
Started my Head Gasket job at 7PM, leisurely working on the car from then till 3:30AM with 2 other guys, got twice as much done as we expected. Hopefully as long as nothing goes horrible, we should be able to get her up and running by the end of today. Found out that my car already had 2nd or 3rd gen lifters in it......is that normal for a '98 GS-T?
