2G What could cause timing belt to look like this?

I'm about to change the timing belt on my 2g talon. I pulled the cover off and there is significant wear on the timing belt side closest to the engine. I haven't fully disassembled everything else yet but kinda wanted to know if anyone has ran into a similar problem before.

I dont remember wich bolt it is but I believe that is from either someone putting the bolt that's too long in the wrong spot in the timing case or that bolt backed out... either way a bolt is eating it up, seen people on here with brand new ones eaten up from that.

The belt is also not riding centered. I would check all of your pulleys specifically the tensioner pulley. It is possible you have the wrong pulley. They are not the same from 1G to 2G. It is possible somebody installed the wrong one. If that is not the case look around you should find a cause as to why that belt is not riding centered

Its so easy to not realize that 2, just 2, bolts are a wee bit shorter so it just needs the front 2 bolts pulled out and exchange them with 2 that are shorter. Does anyone happen to know their length, off hand, so he doesn't have to pull them all to find those 2 shorter ones?
I'd have to say I'd be concerned with the belt also.

Yep, this happened to me when I installed a Moroso oil pan and wasn't as careful with the studs on the timing belt side as I thought I was. These things happen.

I went ahead and checked the oil pan bolts but the 2 short bolts are in the correct spot according to this diagram. However when I pulled the lower timing belt cover the balance belt was broke into 2 pieces I'm not sure how long it has been like that. Could that be the cause of the timing belt looking like that? I know that normally when the balance shaft belt goes it takes the timing belt with it but there is no telling how long I have drove the car like that.

Alright thanks I will double check the front shaft and it was a local shop that did the last timing belt job. I'm guessing they didn't change the balance shaft belt and just did the timing belt.
