I have had a 1995 Eclipse for a while now that I wanna get back on the road again finally.
I am a Honda builder (sorry) and I know nothing about these cars except for some are scary fast and my brothers GST is one of those. Now my brothers is a 97 GST so 4g63t where as mine is a 420a. I would love to go with the 4g63 as they are way more readily available and fast. As I'm doing research I see Mitsubishi used this engine in pretty much every 2.0 they or Dodge made.
So my question is, what will me my easiest and cheapest way to get this thing driveable and reliable?
I'm not rich but I want to do this right. I'm a machinist and a welder so i can do my own fab work or make new mounts myself, if need be, so thats not my issue I just simply wanna get it going for now with a little pep and have some fun and be able to get to work.
Of course I would want to turbo it either out the gate or after I get it going. Either way I don't care, wrenching is a hobby for me so it will be fun. I guess what I want to know is what swap will be easiest, if not easiest how much fab is actually needed and where can I get decent parts at a good price.
Sorry if any of these are rhetorical questions, like I said, I'm new here and I'm new to DSM but thats soon to change. Thanks anyone for your input lets get these babies built and go cruise!
