i have a 97 gsx.

i wanyt to know what you guys think the most aggressive cams you can go with on a stock head.?.

mods : fmic , type rs bov , 3" dp , 3" test pipe , 3" catback.
stock t25- will upgrade turbo when taxes get here this month

Yea he knows he has the wrong turbo. He is going with a large Garret and most likely will use that on his gvr4. He bought the wrong shit. The spool is crazy though.

Just a quick question wouldnt the 272/272 combo be better to get just in case if he goes with a larger turbo. Wouldnt you get more gains with the larger turbo.

Absolutely, if he is planning on going with a larger turbo than the 16G then definately go with a larger set of cams. That's why I went with the FP2 cams on the 16G because a 50 trim was in the near future for me. You will really see the gains from a more aggressive cam if you go with a bigger turbo that can keep up with the flow in the upper rpm range.

FP1/FP2 or FP2/FP2 combo as said above.

If you are getting Evo 9 injectors, stick with a 190 or EVO pump. You won't need a 255 and AFPR with the Evo 9 injectors. The 190 is good for about 400whp, which is more than the EVO III 16G can do.

I am running FP2/FP2 setup on an 18g, which is pretty much the same as the evo3 16g, and there is nothing that can touch me in 3rd and 4th. i get no traction in 1st and 2nd because of the one wheel peel, but in a GSX, this setup would rock. also got walbro255, and 550's. they are maxed out, and im running about 20-21lbs of boost. here's the link to the cams:

I currently have a evo3 big 16g with all supporting mods and i am doing a rebuild on a head, I will be using the comp 101200's which are the equivalent to HkS 272's and basically the exact same as the FP2's as comp makes FP cams. I heard nothing but great things about these cams and they dont need upgraded valve train. Also, i heard you dont lose much torque and you gain a good amount of HP even with the stock valve train and evo 3 flow. CHeck out those comps or try the 101100/101200 combo it equals a 264/272 combo.

My mechanin thought the same thing then he though a valve because of the FP2's. I would always get upgraded springs and retainers if you go with anything higher than a 264

I agree with him. I didn't upgrade my valvetrain when I put my cams in but the talon is not my daily driver. If you rely on your car everyday then I would definately put some springs and retainers in there when you put the cams in.
