What bearings to get??

Im lost on what set to get for the main bearings.

The car was built in August of 1997, technically right in the middle of when Mitsu came out with the new "revised" 7 blot block along with the thrust washers.

Which set do i get?? Is there a difference?

Yes there is a difference. You need to find out if you have the thrust washers or not.

Part number 5M1186H is for the normal '92.5 - '97 7-bolt engine.

Part number 5M1219H is for the '97 - '99 engines with the thrust washers.

Is there any way to check besides pulling it apart?

Hey JacksonAuto, by any chance do you have any 98-99 revised blocks and non-revised blocks in your shop that you could take a couple pictures to see how to tell for revised blocks?

Not at the moment. We had a couple of what I call "full thrust" ( like a 6 bolt" ) blocks that just went out this week. I believe that's the "non-revised" version that you are describing.

I really think the piston oilers are more important than the thrust bearing configuration.
