What are these 2 things?

Hey guys, just cleaning up the engine bay a bit more and came across these two things... i have seen some people have removed or rewired these pieces.

Just curious what they are? ( i have searched and searched with no luck)


I circled in red the 2 things im not sure of, the red circle in the middle of the engine bay....its the silver metal box behind the IM. Im not sure what it is for.

The other thing is a grommet for some wiring running to and from the engine bay. Originally, the wires have a connector on the firewall at the unused bolt hole just to the right of that red circle; from the connector, the wires run into the the harness near some of the test connectors on the firewall. I'm not certain what the wires are for, unfortunately.

I have no idea what they are going to...im wondering if those are connected to the wiper motor?

Also im looking to move my fuel filter... can i do a inline one?

assuming the wiper motor and the harness for it are in the same location as a 420a (theres no reason they shouldn't be), thats exactly what the circle next to your FB is.

^^ ahh alright. I am buying a truck i think soon, so the eclipse will no longer be a DD. Then i am pulling ALL that stuff, and only driving the car on nice days.
