So I climbed under my dash today to see what was involved with installing a non cruise control tb cable.

Now, I knew that the following port was there...just never really gave it any thought until today, as it does not look like its oem. It seems this thing has been removed and "rescrewed" into the lower dash panel 3 times in 3 separate locations (I can see the hole patterns).

I then decided to follow the wire attached to this port, which lead to the following black box. This box is just dangling underneath my dash.

Any ideas? :idontknow:

Looks like to be a car alarm of somesort? Only reason i say that is because of the bundle of wires coming out of it ie door locks horn etc... But i dont know what the port would be for. Hmmmmm?????

Its a somewhat old school anti theft.. its aftermarket. Usually there is what looks like a key fib with a circuit board sticking out of it. That is usually installed in that port.. when installed it makes a connection and allowed the ignition to work. If removed the car wont start.

Can you get any words / numbers off of that black box? I don't believe that first picture is stock manufacturers wouldn't crudely secure that piece to plastic like that
