What are the effects of disconnecting my TPS?

I'm thinking about disconnecting my TPS in order to "remedy" my P0300 Random Multiple Cylinder Misfire code.

What can I look forward to by doing this?
What purpose does the TPS really serve other than reading the throttle position?

Might I be just fine and not notice any difference in mileagle and driveability?

Pretty sure your car will run like Sh*t, without the ecu knowing how much throttle you're giving, it can't match it with fuel... but I could be wrong.

I dont see how your idol could be any good, when people switch the tps's during a 1g tb swap and they dont do it right, they have some big issues with there idol.

Well I'm not too sure... but disconnecting, the ECU won't know when to go into open or closed loop.. aswell as when the TB is closed, especially on the 2g TPS which has the TB closed feature built in, when you're idling, ect... but I could be wrong.

i don't know if it would be much help. but magnus motorsports has a tech article about swapping the 1g in the 2g. in that article they talk about fixing the misfire codes that the swap sometimes causes. the solution they use works. used it on a buddys car. now if it will work for you i don't know. just throwing out ideas. heres the link http://www.magnusmotorsports.com/tech/1gina2g.pdf

Thanks AVC-R, but this is a 7 bolt. I knew I should have mentiond it
