I'm trying to take care of the most expensive thing first for modifications. I'm guessing buying all forged internals for the engine and a turbo to push it will cost a bit. Is there a kit I can buy that'll have everything to rebuild my 7 bolt that is all forged? Also, what kind of turbo would you guys recommend?

Go to anyone that sells parts online or even ebay. They are not hard to find, as far as a turbo you gave zero information to even begin talking about them.

What are your goals for the car?

i'm not exactly sure what my plans are. I know that I want to first take care of more expensive modifications first and then move on to the less expensive parts. Just wanna make sure the engine will be able to handle more horsepower while being reliable with forged internals. Then I'd upgrade the cv axles, clutch, transmission, fuel pump, fmic, bigger turbo, bigger injectors, ect.

First thing to take care of is maintenance. Honestly we can tell you how to build 1000hp engines, but very few are willing to take it that far. If your going for 300hp, stock internals will get you there. Anything after that you should look at upgrading rods and pistons.

For a turbo set-up, anything up to around 300hp a 16g is one of the best bangs for your buck. After that, it again depends on how far you want to take the car.

I'm wanting to go to atleast 400 hp for now with about $15,000 to spend. If I can spend less that'd be great.

You can make a 400 horse dependable dsm for $1500.00 Guess i should have went into a little more detail here. Watch what you buy and dont buy things you dont need.

$1,500? wouldn't that be running on a stock engine?

Yes, and that would work just fine.

The stock motor can take 400hp. Throw some cams and head studs in it and go to town.

so after going through the upgrade paths it should be under $1500 and I'll be up to 400 hp?

Well if you go stock block, upgrade fuel system, arp rods and head, turbo + exhaust ,Fmic and piping ecmlink, some good tuning might get you 400. You might be in the ball park of >$1500 too depending on the turbo and if you do the work yourself.

Best thing to do would be make yourself a budget, look over the upgrade paths and price out the parts.
