I have the 3" gm maft blow thru setup and I think it may shot.

I have been tuning my car lately but I was running late for work last night. My maft is mounted behind my battery so I left the cover off (bad idea). Well, I left work this morning, stopped to wash the windshield and now it runs like crap. I made it to my mom's house and now it has idle surge. I pulled the maft out from behind the battery and it was wet. I tried changing the base setting just to see if the logger would show it and it did'nt change anything. Do ya think the maft is no good? If its no any good, can it be repaired? Please dont flame on me, I need to get this fixed cause this is my daily driver.

Thanks, Nathan

Well, I unplugged the battery to reset the ecu and still the same thing. I turned the a/c on and it idled up like normal. Then I turned it off and now the car runs fine. Could the isc have been stuck or something?

Thanks, Nathan

The internal components of the MAFT could have just been wet and it easily enough just dried out sort of like drying out a cell phone after it takes a swim. Electronics normally wont be damaged from contact with H20.
