welded diff. what kindof axle LSD? or non?

I have a welded center diff and i need a new cv shaft and autozone needs to know if i am limited slip or not. the rear is the 4 bolt and the front is 5spd. with that welded diff. please advise.

Which axle do you need? The front are all the same. The rear has many options.

Welded center differential has nothing to do with axle choice, you would still use the axles that are proper fit for your car.

Yes, but they asked if has an LSD. There are different rear axles for the 3, and 4 bolt, LSD, and non LSD. His car came with a 3 bolt, and he swapped a 4 bolt into it. He wasn't clear if it's an LSD rear, or even what axle he needs.

^ Correct. My post was directed toward the OP. The axle for the front will be the same regardless, the rear is dependent upon the things you listed.

Is there a tag on the rear diff that says LSD? Can you take in a cv shaft and have them match it up?

I am getting a front Passanger axle at least that is where i feel like i am hearing a crunch when i turn the wheel . i have a 23 spline t-Case but that is all i really know. im sure the front was an open diff probly. i would like to replace both fronts but i am pretty sure the passenger is giving me problems. it is a lsd 4 bolt rear end.

Then all you need is a 5 speed frt pass cv axle for a 91 TSI AWD. The front is open diff, but there aren't any other stock options for an AWD 1G anyway.

If you had an aftermarket LSD installed then it would have to work with the stock front axles.

Cool thanks!!! Ya the rear diff has a tag on it that says B1 something then LSD. so since the center diff was open when it wasnt welded then that makes sense. i just didnt know if a LSD axle would be any thicker/ Stronger.
