who has one.. i searched and didnt come up with amount of info that i would like.

how do you like it?

is it really as bad as everyone says it is?

and if your fwd does it help alot?

that is all

thanks

Most people, when they use the term "welded diff" they are refering to a center differential out a awd trans. They weld the spider gears to the input shaft, and that will hold about anthing you can throw at it, if it is done properly. This setup is basically used on an all drag set ups, and you eliminate your viscous coupler.

if your using your car for a daily driver, i wouldnt suggest it.

and if your thinking of a limited slip for a fwd......use a block, or spend some ching and actually get a limited slip diff

my .02

He already has a b&m insert in it. He is also getting an na 1g as a daily driver I believe.

whats better kaaz or quaife. which is better for drag racing. i dont care about handling or autocrossing or any kind of road course.

I had a welded front diff in my FWD years ago, hated the damn thing, it sucked ass man, you cant turn for nothing!!! tires would chirp so bad, turning into a tight spot was impossiable. And I went through axles like water man.

Now center diff on a awd, I have one of those on my AWD now and love it, hardly notice it unless I am backing up around a corner, other then that I hardely even know its welded.

heres a question. i have a 1g tsi and it has a viscous lsd in it ( so it says on the door still and the accual read diff) it is a total pita when backing up around a corner or takeing a slow corner.. its like the rear end clunks and clicks and all sorts of jacked up stuff..

is that noraml? also what is the diff between a viscous lsd and a noraml limited slip?
