How could I tell That a nonrunning car has a Welded center diff with out removing. Only bad thing is a VCE with give the same results but that is a good starting point .

Go to a flat open asphalt parking lot. Turn the wheel all the way to one side and drive in a CIRCLE. If the tires chirp or the car hops then the diff is welded up. Its basically 4x4 now :D

If it drives nice and smooth in a full circle then it is NOT welded.

He asked for a non-running car. ;)

Anyway, you can do a similar test with a non running car. If the car is on a flat area, straighten the wheels out and push it. After doing so, turn the wheels to one side ALL the way and attempt to push it. If it rolls as easy as it did the 1st time around, it does not have a welded center diff. If you have trouble moving it, (it honestly will barely move) it has either the welded center diff, welded viscous, spool or VCE.

Thanks for the fast response
