I got the center diff welded, and treated. But for some reason the diff body was full of tiny pellets. Not sure if its welding splatter or from shotpeening. They seem to be inside the diff body stuck between the spider gear and the body. There is a small gap (where front pinion goes) and 2 oiling holes. I sprayed brake clean and compressed air. I got some out but still sounds like some on the inside. What can I do? These pellets would probably ruin the transmission. Should i seal the gaps with silicone or something?

Who did it for you? That looks like it could be weld slag, but it could be remains from shot peen.

I think the larger piece was weld slag. I was chipping them off with screwdriver and hammer. The smaller ones were loose.

Just looking for creative ways to fix this. Dont see any other option other than to seal it, or cut my losses. Unfortunately I have 2 center diffs that were welded and have this issue.
