Ok guys, you know that blue pulley that the auto tensioner moves up and down...

I ran into a weird problem but possibly found a solution but I am wondering if anyone else came across this in a build...

I have a 1992 7 bolt im building.

I ordered a OEM belt and tensioner set.

I put on the brown idler pulley. Went on just fine, *pulley on right hand side*.

I go to put the blue tensioning pulley on, and I tighten the bolt, and the pulley scrapes and wont budge... So i put my old one back on, goes on fine and spins smooth as heck. So I was like wtf...WTF...

I look on the back, and it seems the Stock one has a couple MM hump on the back.

The new one I have looks different and the Hump is possibly half the stock one.

So I put on a Washer on the bolt then put on the new pulley, and WAALA, she spins just fine, I'm just worried about the possible MM varation between humps on the back. I will put on the belt and see what happens, you guys can comment...

Just worried about T belt falling off or some crap... I mean were talking like MM difference here but IDK...

I wouldn't risk it. Lately I have been having some quality control issues with parts I get from my local parts store. It's kind of a bummer really, but now whenever I get a part locally I ask to see several of the same thing and I pick the best one.

Is your timing belt kit direct from the dealer?

Turns out it is a 2g timing belt tensioner. I quickly ordered a 1g from extremepsi and got the right one. I got the stupid 2g from DSM gravecrap. Who insisted they sent me the right 1g parts. Them guys suck. Even refused to send me the right one, just sent me a refund check. Which was fine... but I would have liked the right part.

What the heck are you guys talking about. That is a 1992.5 7 bolt from a talon N/T.

6 bolts were from 1989-1992.5
7 bolt GEN 1 was from 1992.5-1994
7 bolt gen 2 was from 95-99.

DSM wise.... Idk about evo.
