Weird noise coming from the engine

To check for an exhaust leak (sounds like a tick alot of times)

Buy a can of seafoam from any autoparts store. Run the engine. Disconnect any vacuum line and suck up about 1/3 of the can. Then turn the engine off right after. Let it sit for 30+ minutes. After that, fire it up and enjoy the smoke show while looking around the engine bay for any exhaust leaks. They will be seen VERY easy.

You could also have a crack in the exhaust manifold and instead of droping seafoam in there get some marvel mystery oil and drop like two cap fulls in each cylinder, than fire it up watch for smoke like the above post says. if your running stock exhaust you may have a pluged exhaust check your cat..

definitely not lifter tick. does it get louder or go away when you rev the engine? if it goes away, then it is not an exhaust leak and you have something loose.

did you take off the intake pipe off the turbo to see if the turbo has shaft play?
