Weird knock issue please help

I made the following datalog at WOT on my 99 auto GSX. I'm running a big evo316g, 650cc, walbro 255, AFPR, 3in trubo back, and DSMlink v3 lite. During the first part of the pull there was no knock retard. Directly after the auto trans shifts the ECU pulls timing and gets worse with the next shift. I heard no audible knock while this occurred (my car is pretty quiet). I am thinking this is phantom knock but not sure. Please help.

I think that if you hear knock then it is not phantom knock. Knock is noticable enough that you will hear it and know its not something else. You will hear a pinging sound.


I have phantom knock in my 1g, I know what its coming from. My 1g lifter is ticking and causing my knock sensor to go off.

I do believe that the knock the ecu is seeing is phantom. I don't want to go in the dsmlink and turn the knock sensor threshold over my redline so that it couldn't trigger knock retard false or otherwise. There would be no safeguard then. I'm thinking it might be auto trans related due to the knock occurring right when the shift happens. Help!

you should fill out you profile so people can help you out.

What mods do you have?

Is you car completely stock?
-if its stock then you can set the dsmlink not to see knock until 3000 rpm. Thats what I have mine set to. You should not see knock until you start making boost.

I just filled out my profile. The car has a few boltons. I don't see knock until I see boost for sure. I don't know if you can view my log but I do a WOT pull and I have no knock until the trans shifts. It's basically the same pull every time the trans shifts with no knock in the first gear, and knock retard occurring after the first and second shifts.
