LOL, all it takes here is 10.00 and about 72 hours to get a carry license. My buddy used to carry a kel-tec .32. really small, but effective. He now has a glock .40, not sure which model. You could always just carry your ar-15 in your trunk, but who would want to do that?

I've got a Concealed Carry.

For personal use, I carry a Springfield XD-40 Tactical .40 Cal, 15 Round Mags, Hydroshock ammo.

Goes with me just about everywhere I go. ;-)

I purchased a SW9VE S&W a few weeks back and love the size.

I'm 6'7 and have moderately large hands, and the gun feels "right". I have yet to do any accuracy tests, but I taught a beer can or three a lesson.

Just over 300, came with 2 10rd magazines and 2 15rd magazines.

10 or 15rd mags in a smaller frame that fits big hands moderatly priced... hit them all on the head LOL :). Sounds like something I'll have to check out. Good find, thanks for the info :thumb:

If your looking for a smaller gun to carry take a look at the makarov's and kel-tech. Both are very good small reliable guns to carry. I carry a Glock 22 or Kimber 1911, but thats what I like. Stay away from the high points, Jennings and Bryco cheep $100 pistols. You have to remember this is protecting your life. Wouldn't you rather have something with a little more reliability? I've been around guns my entire life and couldn't stress how much to stay away from the cheap pistols. I had a slide break in half and go flying by my head on a jennings once. Well lesson learned and won't even touch the things now. OH by the way anyone know what a GALIL is? Its not an animal either. :D

It varies by state. Here all I need is a class, a background check (already completed for Permit to Purchase), and about 100 bucks.
Sounds like a cakewalk compaired to what I went through to get a federal explosives permit. :)

Seems to me if the Beretta Minx and nice, quiet .22 shorts are good enough for the Mossad, it should be good enough for me. "Knock-down power" is a matter of where it hits.

Permit? Why pre-warn? No need for anyone alive to realize it was there. :|

I believe it's an Israeli made rifle that has design roots in the AK-47...

On a personal note, I'd like to pick up an HK Mark 23.

leet and 98spydert - No biggie. :thumb: Hope you guys enjoy those two places. Stay safe. :thumb:

Once you guys are "in" those respective communities (they take a while to warm-up to), please let them know that a brother from Cleveland misses them greatly, and that he will remember all the friendships, and that he hopes to be back, someday (don't worry, I never did anything bad or dishonorable - I've just elected to go on a "leave of absence" from those communities due to personal reasons).

RE: Hi Point

A good friend of mine - whom I'd almost characterize as, LOL, "trailer-trash" due to his sometimes very strange need for quantity rather than quality - actually owns about 4 of those things bought from various "gun shows."

True, very mixed on-line feedback on those things, but I'd be damned if every one of them that he owned didn't shoot, and shoot rather well at that.

All said and done, though, I'd still prefer his wife's Taurus Titanium .38 revolver or his Desert Eagle hand-cannon. :thumb:

Jennings is NOTORIOUS for being garbage, I've never heard ANYTHING good about those. My father-in-law had one and we spent more time trying to get cartridges unjammed than we spent shooting the thing.

Here is AZ it's 80.00 for the class and 80.00 for the permit. You don't even need to own a gun yet, You can use their rentals to pass the class and get the permit. I carry my full-size H&K USP.40 all the time with an "inside-the-pants holster" it's fine and you can barely see it with just a T-shirt on.

colt 1911 clone (7 rnd mini) loaded with black talons.

its an all metal heavy paperweight with a 3" flared barrel, its fairly small and pretty balanced handgun, but isn't the most practical for carrying since itl rust easy from being all metal.

i'd like to get myself a p22 down the road or even a steyr.

In normal clothes, is it even possible to conceal a hand cannon? Those things are massive. OMG

I had to have a thigh holster for my desert eagle .50.

I have had everything from Sig p220 to S&W to colt's. I now carry a berretta 380 by far my most favorite. Though I have to say a nice Colt 1911 or Kimber gives it a run for first.
Also the smaller 1911's are Ideal carry guns due to there width.

On a side note Here in Louisiana it coast about $50 and six hours to get a conceled carry here. Best part theres no permit to just own a gun thats why I wont get a concelled carry. The goverment dont know I own any guns and thats the way I wanna keep it. ;)

I carry a glock 23C with factory installed night sites, and I always carry hydrashok ammo. I have a an angled small of the back holster for carry, its nearly invisible with your tshirt untucked, and its in my arm rest of my 1g when Im driving. In ND its a 25 fee to the tester 25 to the state, you must be able to put 6 out of 10 rounds in to a targer 10meters away with one reload, a background check, and a 25 question test on liablity that is open book and open instructor

Maybe I'm just well-endowed, but I've had no problem concealing hand-cannons with this particular holster.

:p

Nah, seriously - I think that what each of us can carry "concealed" truly depends in no small part to our unique anatomical makeup. I've known big guys who'd print with a snub-nosed revolver unless they're wearing an untucked button-up shirt, sweater, or jacket/sport-coat and guys who are thin as twigs and as small as Jackie Chan, who are able to somehow carry off large-frame autos with only a T-shirt.

Go figure  .

The skinny guys with huge shoulders can very easily conceal a larger frame handgun in the small of their back.

As for me, I doubt I could fit anything larger than a 1911 Commander there.

Pa was 19 bucks and about 7 days wait.

I have a Glock 20 which is the largest framed Glock in a CTAC IWB holster and it conceals just fine with a polo shirt overtop. I wear it at about 3 o’clock right by my pocket so my arm covers it nicely. I would think that a sub compact would conceal even easier.

Remember it has to be concealed not invisible. There will be some printing depending on how you move. You have to remember that everyone is not giving it as much thought as you are.

If you wanted to go for total invisibility I would go for small of the back IWB. My one friend is about 5'7 140lbs and my gun disappeared when he put it on the small of his back. But there are some other issues with that such as what if you fall down and land on it and hurt yourself or the possibility that someone could come up from behind and take it.

-VERY- true.

The LE-pros out there and other enthusiasts/CCWs will, of course, still spot you off the bat - but being a good honest citizen means that this isn't a real "worry," more an issue of discretion. The average-Joe or BG won't likely be experienced enough to realize exactly what that bump/wrinkle is, and will likely mistake it for a cell, PDA, or pager.

p220 for the winter
xd-9 for the summer

Two great guns. I actually sold my xd-9 to get a 220, but I opted for a sniper rifle instead, savage .223 with 24x42 scope. It can read the letters of a business card at 100 yards.

Oh, and Verbalkint, where did you get 15 round mags for your xd-40, all I could find for mine were 12 rounders.
