i have a 1g NT and i was just going to sell it and buy a turbo, but the parents said no, then i was gonna buy a jdm turbo engine and do a swap, but that will cost me almost 3000 which i dont have because the all new exhaust would be like 7 or 800 for 3-inch, i would need 3 intercooler piping, and an intercooler about 400, 1200 for engine and tranny if i they'll give me a fwd tranny which i still dont know if i can get, about 40 for an aftermarket intake off ebay, and about 4or 500 to get my friend to do the engine swap for me because i dont have the knowledge to actually swap it. so my real question is how can i get the max HP out my NT, i have compiled so far that i will get MONZA 2.5 inch Cat-back, VTECH racing Cat 2.5 inch, Pacesetter 4-2-1 headers 2.5inch, cold air intake, and a mod chip. now what other parts besides Porting and Polishing which im also doing and Blueprinting which im not will increase HP? much input needed also if anyone near Eau Claire has a Turbo engine with everything i'd need to swap(like all exhaust and intercooler doesnt have to be 3 inch or anything) PM me.

thanks

There is a few things you can do to your NT engine to make it a little quicker but its not going to be very noticable. If your looking to get power your better off to keep ur NT for a while but look around for a complete turbo car. By that point you will have saved some money and most likely be able to afford it. Ive seen them around for pretty cheap some of them need a little tlc but itll be a much better investment than buying the NT mods. Ive seen people with NT dsm's that have mods and there just not happy with the results. Im sure uve seen alot of neons that people have put mods on right? Ride in one of those and thats pretty much what you will get out of a NT with mods besides the handling difference. Good Luck...Keep your eyes open for good deals. ill get ahold of you if i see any :thumb:

There is a special forum devoted to NT cars, look in there.

Otherwise: K&N open air filter, exhaust, cams.

Run seafoam thru the intake could restore some lost power.

CHange fuel filter, do all the maintenance to get/keep it running optimally.

Uhhh......dude you could just make your N/T a turbo. But it wount be able to run past 8 psi.You could do this and then sell your car to someone who hears the word turbo and will pay 10k then you can go out and find a reg turbo for like 8....... ;) works pretty damn well my friend. :sneaky: :thumb: he he he its evil but it works....i actually buy the N/t's and make them turbo just so there will be more turbo cars around.Well my friend does not me i was lieing so i sound cool ROFL ok well have fun man later...(i hear ya about the parents thing im 16 and they bi*** for me even changing my oil)

By reading the hundreds of other posts on this very topic.

You'll never see 200hp. Don't put your hopes too high. Revel in your much-lower fuel costs.

There's more to speed than acceleration.
