'97 GST on stock T-25, the mods are in my profile if needed. The boost is set at 12psi and it used to spike to around 16psi and settle back down to 12psi and hold. Now at WOT in any gear the boosy will just spike off the gauge and not come back. When on 3/4 of throttle, the boost will hold at 10psi or however much gas I am giving it. My question is... Could my wastegate not be opening?, and what is the fix for this because my search did not yeild specific results. Or... could I have a boost leak? I do not hear any hissing around hose connections so I assumed the wastegate was the culprit. Thank You

My turbo did that once when the vaccuum/pressure hose popped off my IC pipe. Check that hose to make sure its connected to both the wastegate nipple as well as to some sort of pressure source.

If that is all connected and secure, move the wastegate lever with your hand to see if it moves at all. Maybe its time for a new actuator (cheap) or you could just use this as an excuse to upgrade to a new turbo :D

Oh, and you might wanna make sure nobody messed with your MBC, or double-check that its set right. Turn it all the way down and start turning it up 1psi at a time to see if that does anything.

Have you looked to see if the signal line to the boost control or BCS is still connected at its source and at the actuator?

I might do this if I cannot fix it myself or with little money. I planned on getting a 50-trim turbo and the remainder of the supportsing mods in the spring/early summer as I will have saved all winter.
Thanks for the help guys I will check tomorrow after class.
