Wanting to buy my first Eagle Talon

I have my eyes set on a gorgeous 1990 eagle talon ( base 2L ) not awd and no turbo.

She looks top clean, rustless. New tranny and clutch. Asking price is 3.3k ( negotiable ).

Are these models reliable and easy/cheap to find parts for?

your way over paying. for that much you could get a gsx with some mods in good condition

I agree... it's in great shape, but you could have turbo and AWD for that price for one in good shape... I would keep looking or really negotiate that price down...

Yes, they are very reliable and relatively cheap to maintain. If you want a faster car though, you should probably keep looking for a turbocharged one.

2.0 non turbo for 3.3k...this guy is hgih(read bacwards)..

You can find an awd turbo 5speed for that kinda money..Keep looking dude..

I would keep looking or really negotiate that price down...

Its got 168,000km on the clock new tranny and clutch also.

What price Would you say is fair? All the tsi's in my area are over 5k and i dont want one anyway. Esi basic = less stuff to break down

Offer him a grand, with that many miles...Jebus..I knows it looks super clean but no way would I offer that kind of money for a non turbo fwd..Find a freaking evo3 for that kind of money..

It is clean as hell, but with that kind of mileage and being a base model. I would offer $1,500 tops.

You'll definitely save at the pumps with a non turbo. The 3.3 grand is quite high with that many miles. I'd pay half that. Then it comes on how the motor is, the interior, any crashes (carfax)?

Also i dont know why here cars seem to sell for more than people say on forums. I paid my bmw 535i for 2,500$ and everybody on the bmw forums said i could find one for under 1k. Not here thats for sure.

I doubt he'll go down to 1.5k... Other talons i saw are never under 2k around here...

I want this to become a daily driver and i have no plans to mod it

You're also in Canada, most comments above are from the US, people price them higher here. You can use it as a start for a negotiating point. I paid my 99 GSX with 29 000 miles on it 13000$ back in 2006 and I got told I overpaid. It really goes down to what you want to pay for it and how desperate the guy is in selling it.

Although I'm surprised no rust on a car from Quebec...tons of snow/salt down there but at least they have St-Hubert

I'd pass. He's asking WAY too much for it. Sure it's clean but that's a lot for a 2.0 non turbo car that's 21 years old with about 100K miles (if I converted that correctly)...

Once you get a certain distance up north salt stops being effective so they use sand. Don't know if it applies in the OP's region

No way $1000, the car looks well taken care of (at least as far as I can tell from the picture) if the paint is clean and it runs strong with no knocking than offer the guy between $1700-$2000

420a dsms are becoming harder to find these days, especially the clean well taken care of ones.
