Walbro 255 question

i bought a Walbro 255 pump but did not buy the install kit. i just installed the pump with a few hold backs but it all went smoothly none the less. Now since i did not buy the install kit am i not gettin full potential out of my pump?? Should i go buy the install kit? or just leave it like it is?

Also it doesn't sound as loud as my friends 255.

it might be an HP, i dunno but he doesn't have an AFPR. If i had an AFPR i woulda got the HP. he doesn't know much about DSM's he just owns one and upgrades it according to what our friend told him but now that our friend is gone i dunno what he is gonna do. He could always come to me.... Hes had like 2 valve cover gaskets in the span of about 4 or 5 months and this one is leaking too. I think the shop that did it screws it up. I will do it next time and save him money and time.

Do you need a fuel pressure regulator with the high pressure pump? I thought you only needed it with the low pressure one, but maybe I have it mixed up.

You probably need an AFPR for any 255lph to run correctly. More so on the HP because of extra delivery. However every car is different and some may run fine without one, but ideally one wants a 43psi base pressure setting (on a 2g).

I'm sure it wouldn't hurt to have an AFPR.
My old 95 GSX didn't have one and it ran great. I had a 255lpr but not HP pump.

my car is running just as good as it was with the stock pump if not better. No problems so far except for the gas that shot all over everything. Anybody know something that will take the gas smell out?

your only hope for the smell might be a ozone machine.

my buddy spilled a gas can in his trunk and we tried everything, nothing worked at all.

or try a detail shop, they might be able to (probly clean real good and maybe use a ozone machine)
