vband for bep holset?

two part question:

ok so I just purchased a bep t3 .70 for hx40

after doing a search looks like I would have to purchased the vband from the source due to some odd shape?

but has anyone tried a generic one from ebay?

like this 3" inch Turbo Exhaust Down Pipe Stainless V Band Clamp Kit 2X Mild Steel Flange | eBay

the second is for those factory t3 12cm2 hx35 vband. are they generic fit or special aswell?

im still really considering hx35 over hx40 I have 1 day to decided

I got the one that Extremepsi sells. I have an HX-35. It looks like I waaaaayyyyyy overpaid. The flange is exactly 3" and fit over the 3" pipe I have perfectly. It is a little smaller than the Vband flange on the BEP T3 Vband turbine housing, but it still tightens and looks like it will seal fine...If I can keep it from warping when I weld it. I'm welding 1" at a time and cooling it with compressed air then letting it sit until it gets close to room temp. What a PITA!!!

The one that I bought for my hx40 setup was from extreme psi and It worked perfectly. I don't know if I would trust that ebay one because usually those are of cheaper quality usually.

When it comes to parts like this IMO it's all the same. I've used eBay vband before and I have yet to have issues.

It's mild steel that's solid thats has one main purpose(keep exhaust in) what kind of quality are you after?

Thanks for the link but I actually saw that. Just really steep price for a vband if you ask me.

Ive just had problems with exhaust parts before from ebay. It does look like it could be a quality product so give a shot and let me how it works out for you.
