Hey my head was warped bad the machine shop said. I had it milled and straightened. When installing the valves and lapping them back they will not completely seat? So do i have the valve seats ground and if so do i need something done to my valves?

Did you go with new valve guides?? If so i think you should do a valve grind to make up for that possible .5* of positioning change that could of occured..

well your head is still warped they just made the mating surface flat

the seats need to be cut, NOT ground, the seats are still twisted from the head being warped.

also you need to have your spring tention check... overheating and age will make the springs go flat. and you will hit valve float sooner in the rpm band

I used a back up head for now although this head is milled and ported. I guess i will spend the money later get 1mm oversize new springs ect ect. But the car is running excellent now.

I personally wouldnt run that head. How do you know the cams will sit properly?

the mancine shop should check the cam tower alignment before they do the work.. even if the cams lock up.. the cam journals can be align honed just like mains in a block.
