So my car has been hitting fuel cut after I installed my big 16g. I ordered my boost controller and after looking at the diagrams I noticed a fitting missing on my turbo. It is right near the inlet side, by the intercooler piping. There are threads and in the boost controller diagrams it shows a hose going from this hole to the wastegate. Can anyone tell me what this fitting is? And even better where I can get one? Thanks guys.

That's not a hole for a fitting. The diagrams you're referring to will mostly use a T25/T28 style compressor housing, which has a vacuum nipple for your boost controller cast into the housing. The TD05 turbos, like the 16g pictured there, had no such fitting on their housing; they used a vacuum nipple on their J-pipe. If you don't have an intercooler pipe with a vacuum fitting, you'll need to either drill and tap the compressor housing for a fitting of your own, or drill and tap your J-pipe/Intercooler pipe for your fitting.

Id probably wanna go with tapping the jpipe for a hole. I wouldnt wanna risk cracking the housing. Will the Jpipe supply sufficient vacuum for the boost controller?

its not that it will supply vac, it will supply boost psi to actuate the wastegate. if the wastegate is not allowed to open you will overboost and most likely hit fuel cut and can do damage to your engine. tap a fitting into your j-pipe and run the vac hose from there tot the wastgate. that will boost you at stock boost for the 16g and will be regulated until you install your controller

Do you have any line going to the wastegate actuator now? You say you've already installed the 16g and are hitting fuel cut, but if you didn't hook any line up to the wastegate actuator then you are probably running as much boost as the turbo can make. Thats why you're hitting fuel cut.

I drilled and tapped my 16g for a boost source, it was easy and no cracking, it didn't even cross my mind. I can get some pics up in a bit to show you. I put itbin that little hole looking thing near he outlet.

Yeah Iv been running wastegate pressue and not letting it really get over 10lbs. If you could post pictures of your setup thatd be awesome.

Thanks for all the speedy responses guys.

Here is a pic of mine, just used a 1/8 NPT nipple. THen used approprate drill bit and tap. Works nicely!

EXTREME PSI : Your #1 Source for In Stock Performance Parts

Kit has everything you need to bolt on a 16G to a 2G...sorta expensive but provides hassle free conversion/modifying...oh and comes with the nipple on the j-pipe...i had the nipple from the j-pipe hooked up to the wg but when i had it tuned they hooked it up to the bottom nipple on my BOV and used a T off of my manifold with one line going to the top of my BOV and the other to a MBC then my wg...all depends on the tune though...but def start off with the j-pipe

This isn't really recommended as you're tapping into the thinnest part of the housing; very easy to crack the housing doing this.

I recommend drilling out the 6mm bolt hole which we do not really use at the top near the compressor outlet flange and tapping it for 1/8" NPT then installing the nipple there where it will be reinforced much better.
