vaccum leak near throttle body

I did a boost leak test and i can hear it leaking around the throttle body area... I sprayed soapy water and can't see any bubbles coming out of my throttle body area... I was thinking my FIAV O ring seal??? The EGR is removed and blocked off and the vacuum lines on the throttle body are capped.. What else could cause it to leak around the throttle body?? Any help is MUCH appreciated.. Thanks tuners.

The EGR is removed.. as in there is just an open hole. ? Or did you block it off properly?

Sorry to clarify, it is blocked off, and the throttle body gaskets are new. And where exactly is the throttle shaft seals??? I couldn't see any bubbles for vacuum leaks.. but i can hear it...

I just looked up and saw that its where the throttle cable is bolted too..

Comes out the same way for the 91 i assume?

The shaft runs through your throttle body. On one side is the cam your throttle cable attaches to and on the other side "front of engine side" your tps bolts to the throttle body. Hiding the end of the shaft. Did you pull the hose off the pc valve and see if it was coming from there?

What do you mean pull the hose off the PC valve and see if its coming from there??? I'm confused..

Well i am most likley thinking its the throttle shaft seals.. i'm going to pull apart my throttle body and check my FIAV O ring and the shaft seals and replace them and see how it goes.. Thanks for the help man

Check the BISS screw too and change the o-ring if its leaking there.

Thanks for the heads up but it seems like its leaking behind the throttle body or beneath it..

To check for the shaft seal leak, rock the part of the TB you would push to rev the car. If you move it around and the sound changes, probably shaft seals. Underneath or around TB, closest things are BISS, intake manifold gasket and lower injector seals. My bet is shaft seals. You'll need 91-94 seals because the 90s are a little different.

Check for oily residue under the bolts on the bottom side of the intake. This is a good indication of a leak when you can't see a "bubble test" under there.

You're right it doesn't but it is in the same general area isn't it? I was just thinking of the ventriloquist effect. Sound carrying and all that. Probably putting too much thought into it. Sorry
