k guys my application is very specific so thats why i post almost every problem LOL so i now have my car running 2g head and intake on a 1990 eagle talon tsi awd.i'm running my original 1g 60 mm TB on this 2g intake and i seem to have a horrible leak around the gasket that mates the TB to the intake can i just get a new gasket and put rtv around the gasket and let it set and everything will be ok?or can i fill the ports on the back side of the TB thats causing this leak since i did the vaccume elimination mod

You can make/buy/magically create new seals if you'd like. It's really what you prefer. On my vehicle I run the solid metal/aluminum seals (not sure of material) that crushes upon tightening the TB to the intake manifold. This has ran for as long as I've owned the car up to 25PSI. On my old GST, under new ownership, we run a paper/composite fiber weave material which can be bought in sheets from most hardware stores. It tears and separates like a paper-based gaskets, but it is tough, compresses nicely, and upon being compressed becomes substantially more sturdy. It has yet to form any leaks up to 20PSI for over a month now.

i have new paper gaskets but on the back side of the TB are big gaps (guessing vaccuume port openings) but the paper gasket does go over them, but won't seal them cause seems like to me a portion of that big port is larger than the intake manifold LOL i have no idea gonna try to use some rtv on both side and clamp her down today and let it set a few hours while i change trand and transfercase fluids today with me luck.the whole reason i posted this was i just got my talon running after a head gasket and timing ordeal now it sputters horribly and is running extreamly rich i think its due to the ecu reading the air and its getting more threw the bad tb gasket will a vaccume leak cause these symptoms?

A vacuum leak of any kind will cause abnormal symptoms to appear in any vehicle after the Maf. In this case, this is actually on either side of the TB. Those ports shouldn't make a difference if they are covered. To be sure that you actually have a bad leak/vacuum here, grab both a bottle of soapy water and a can of starter fluid. Spray the starter fluid around where you suspect the vacuum is and if you hear your car's idle increase then you know it's location. If you can't find that, spray it with soapy water and rev it a few times (Better to just perform a Boost leak test) to locate the exact location of each leak/potential vacuum.

First off, you should run a properly sized throttle body for your intake manifold, or you should port the intake manifold to match the throttle body.

I'd also recommend getting some new OEM gaskets, spray them with copper spray, and put a bit of RTV on the corners/issue areas to make sure they seal.

And I'd also recommend, as 96awdspyder did, to swap it out for a '91-'94 throttle body.

i have a 91-94 tb right now just need to go back to the junk yard and cut my wires for the harness and i'll be in buisness i just reinstalled a new gasket and slapped a decent amount of rtv on both sides of the tb and the tb cap for the intake and put it together currently waiting on it to dry.while i await i will be changing all the fluids (engine, trans, transfer case, and rear diff) LOL ty guys i'll let u know how it does when i get it started in a hour or so

well good news the tb gasket is no longer leaking but it still is running like shit sputtering even sounds like its missing even i took it up the road would barely pull itself guys ### help me LOL i've done bout everything i can think of cept a MAF sensor replacement.and if u lean over the intake sounds like a horrible hissing sound inside or around it i hit it with some starting fluid looking for leaks and nothing so far
