Throttle body problems

Hey i just put a used TB on my 91 tsi 5spd cause the shaft seals blew out on my old one. First problem is now i have a surging idle....which is because i didnt use my old TPS i am assuming. Second is after i started drivin the car for a bit my air/fuel gauge just went dead...but thing is when the car is idleing and the rpms surge up the first red led comes on....and when the idle surges down it goes away....and when im driving and get on the gas i get no response from it? Please help me this is driving me crazy !!!

im in the exact same boat, i have a 90 and swaped to a 92 TB... fixed the o-rings, cleaned it up real good.... got some new gaskets for it and all... made a block-off plate for the FIAV, and re-routed the coolant lines... and now, it idle surges like crazy, even if i screw the BISS all the way in, it wont idle down... i need to test out the ISC i guess?? the plug looked the same for the ISC so i just hooked it up...
i might need to re-check that, make sure the wires are the same colors ??? :thumbdown
