Ok, as I started to collect the parts (92 Eagle Talon FWD Auto)I need for the 5 speed to auto swap, I scored on a B&M ratchet shifter from a GM and also recently picked up a Road Surge shift box. Now, I'm building a drag car but also every now and then would like to take it out for some highway pulls (tuning purposes) and bring it to meets/car shows. I want the stock TCU function when cruising lightly and go to the track with full line pressure.

Here are my questions:

1) Could I use the Road Surge box with the B&M ratchet shift? or any shift boxes?

2) Should I do the blue wire mod?

3) Should I do the Kiggly mod? (Which defeats the purpose of using a TCU)

Also, if anyone has links about how to wire in the Road Surge Box, seeing that I've been looking all day today and found nothing, please send me that link on here.

And any other links that would help me out, please link it on here. Thanks guys:thumb:

Sell the shifter and just put a stock shifter setup in there and you'll make profits. The only manual shifting you need to do at wot are with either a shift box or switch setup, not the shifter itself
Personally if you are going to be driving on the street alot, then I would install a tcu and use it for normal cruising.
Install the roadsurge box you have as well as an upgraded trans cooler and enjoy!

Better then the blue wire mod is getting the tcu flashed. They can set eco/power button to two separate tunes/settings. Like cruise and full race for example. Change shift points, full line pressure, etc.

Just contact these guys.

I agree with the above. Looking on the foreign muscle website, it says you can have a chip with manual shifting on it and automatic shifting via the eco/power button. So you could use the ratchet shifter(or stock shifter) to shift manually at fully line pressure or you can switch the mode using the eco/power button and have automatic shifting. The automatic shifting mode can be set up at fully line pressure if desired and whatever shift points etc, or you can leave it stock.

Definitely check Foreign Muslce out before you do any cutting/splicing because I think the chip can achieve the same results WITH an option of stock TCU usage.

Does anyone know the installation of the road surge box?
