here is what happened ,I bought this dsmlink from a guy from poland ,ohio . I got it from ebay and the guy said it worked .with the ecu included that came with it . but it didn,t work and was burn,t pretty bad ,I fixed most of it ,do you think link might have burn,t out also.:(

Dsm link isn't something you wanna buy used off ebay. I know there are legit VENDORS on there, but some people that sell it, may have a reason they wanna get rid of it. I would talk to the guys at dsmlink forums.

I would take some pictures of the ECU and the chip (as well as making sure to get a picture of the DSMlink sticker on the top of the EPROM chip). Then send those to Tom at ECMtuning (makers of DSMlink) and see what he thinks. He can also run the serial number on the chip to make sure it's a legit copy. Then, if he has any concerns about the pictures, you can send the ECU and chip into him. He can test them as well as fix the ECU if need be and burn you another chip if the one you have is messed up.

I would love to post some pictures , but don,t know how . I have to wait for my buddy to get of work friday ,he is the computer tech ,

ecu part # md165531 and under that is E2T36582 . I read this is from a 1990 car .

You dont want to post your EPROM chip # here cause if some one bought a knock off dsmlink off ebay, they can use your chip # to gain access to the dsm link fourms, which is not accessable to non-legitment chip holders.

I said to send the pictures to Tom at ECMtuning, not post them here. It won't really do you any good to post them here. Tom is the one who could tell you if the ECU might need work just by looking at it.

thanks for the replys ,but I know the ecu is no more good because the ic m6111 e827 was burn,t out ,so I replaced it with one from my other 92 ecu ,which was a non eprom but ,turbo ecu .the ic in there was part# m6111 e856 ,unless these are the same schematic layout . the car runs now since I changed that chip ,but like I said before I can,t connect to dsmlink .

:talon:

How did you find a phone number for ECMtuning? They don't even have one listed on their website as far as I know. Send Tom an e-mail at [email protected] and he'll respond fairly quickly.

If you're looking for another ECU, please put up a WTB ad. The forums aren't the place to be conducting buying/selling/trading.
