What's a good price for used 1G DSMLink

Dudes selling a 1g socketed eprom ecu with dsmlink v2.5 for 400 bucks. Is that a great deal, and decent deal or can i find better if I wait it out?

He says its a rebuilt ecu? But not really going off that cause you never know.

Also it came off a 1g auto awd, mines a 92 talon tsi fwd standard. My guess is that it doesnt matter because its a socketed eprom?

Also one last question, should it come with a special cord or is it basically just any usb cord that can be used?

Its not terrible, Personally I'd hold out for a better price. With V3 full being 500 and V3 lite being 300, Definitely wouldnt buy the 2.5 for 400.

I've seen it done a few times with the 420A's but not sure. You might wanna do some research

Also one last question, should it come with a special cord or is it basically just any usb cord that can be used?

Should come with a cable that has an end that plugs into the OBD port on one end and USB on the other

Ill probably just hold out for the v3 and something that is already for a fwd standard rather then dealing with the hassle. I appreciate the direct answer to my questions, sometimes its hard to get a direct answer!

I would definitely hold out for just a socketed ecu, it doesnt matter if it's fwd, awd, manual or auto; only thing that matters is turbo or non turbo.

Yes, those prices are just for the Link, you have to send them an ECU. It doesn't have to be a socketed ECU though. For a little extra they can do an Eprom conversion to whatever non-socketed/non-eprom ECU you send them. If I remember correctly its 90bucks for that service. Had it done for mine.

Just checked ECM's website and they're $545 for the full version and $425 for the lite. That's not including socket or conversion.

Definitely wait it out. I've seen/bought first hand v3 full with socket ecu for under $400. Just have to keep your eye out

it was a lil over 700 to have my ecu socketed and v3 full. just to give you perspective. id say the guy needs to come down just a little. not alot. its still not a bad deal though
