Has anyone used DSMlink to do this??

I am about to drop $900 on a 2g V2 DSMlink setup. The only reason I am doing this now is because I live in a NY where you can not have a CEL/MIL. Also, you are allowed to have only 2 incomplete processes stored in the ECU, I have 5 that won't go away. I have done the drive cycle.

The CEL I have is the pesky P0505 IAC code (ISC has been changed 3 times). Has anyone ever used DSMlink to shut this particular code off?

Has anyone used DSMlink to turn on all of the readiness monitors or how does that work in link?

Thanks -Jeremy

$900 seems like a lot of cash just to get rid of a CEL. I'm sure that even the dealer could fix the car of its code for less than that. Also, if NY is like PA and you fail for a CEL on an obd 2 car, they will also most likely fail you for having a 95 ecu in the car, however I'm not 100% sure of this.

My check engine light has not come on once since I threw the Link in the car. I checked off all pesky CEL's and no issues. My ISC light used to pop up all the time...now it does not. Dsm Link has a simulate ISC option, and in the DTC's menu you can check off i think 8 things to ignore, to eliminate them from poping up! If someone does'nt post exactly what the options are, I'll swing back later and post them

By the way I always pass inspection with No questions, and no issues

You can turn off the CEL's in DSMLink. Now as far as the rediness tests, it sounds like they actually plug in your car to test for this? If so DSMLink can't help you out there. There is a portion in DSMLink that tells you if the rediness tests have been completed or not but it doesn't offer the ability to falsely "complete" the test. Its not that they couldn't program it to do so, it's the fact their responsible & if someone finds out, their screwed.

Yes in NY the do actually plug into the diagnostic port and send data to the DMV, it sucks.

So is checking off the 8 things to ignore the same thing as falsely completing the test?

Basically, I have 1 CEL P0505 and 5 incomplete readiness monitors. Will DSMlink help me solve this issue so I can drive again?

Thanks for all the fast replies all.

I don't believe turning off the CEL's will have an effect on the rediness tests but am not 100% sure. Best way to know for sure would be to email the guys from ECMTuning (guys who make dsmlink www.dsmlink.com ) & see what they have to say. Dave & Tom offer great customer service & this way you will know for sure.
