My car alarm practically goes off every time I open my door and I keep trying to open and close my door but it won't stop, after 30 to 45 seconds it finally stops, but I can't seem to get the factory alarm to stop. What do I need to do? This is getting really annoying...

Check your door switch. My car did that too with both the stock alarm and the aftermarket alarm. I went over every wire and found that the door switch was on the fritz and the electronic interference set off my alarm. They are on ebay for like 3 bucks right now if you end up needing new ones.

Here is the link if you need them:

Is there a way I can disable it for now, until I can get it fixed? I would rather like not to drive around with my lights flashing.

Well, I'm still not sure that its your problem, but you can pop out your door switches and just unplug the harnesses behind it. You won't have interior lights when you open the doors, but you might get to the bottom of your problem.

Here's what I did to my door button. I took a needle (a knife could work) poked a hole in the rubber boot for the door sensor, put super glue in it, and shut the door for 15 mins. Then the door button stayed stuck, making the car think the car door is always closed.

The reason why I did this is because I couldn't lock my car door when the car is running and the door is open. Damn safety features.

My car does the exact same thing. I don't want to super glue the sensor or anything. I ripped out the fuse for the horn and the anti-theft but the lights still flash on and off like the alarm has been tripped.  I am so pissed right now b/c I can't figure out how to stop it. Would taking the negative lead off the battery maybe reset the car or something. I need help ASAP!!

I wouldn't be pullin the battery lead off. That resets your ECU every time and it has to relearn fuel curves every time its reset. Gives you bad gas mileage for about a tank of gas. Just take the rubber boot off the door switch and there is only 1 screw to take off. Once you get it out, unplug the 2 wires on the back and screw it back in. Completely reversible, it just shows if thats your problem or not.

If thats not the problem, you may want to take off your door panel and look at the lock cylinder mechanism. There is a little switch on there that tells the alarm system when ignition key is inserted and turned properly. If that came off, it thinks the door is opened 'illegally' every time you use it.

Well i fixed the problem. 1st I had to rip out the horn and anti-theft fuses so I could think. Then after the alarm went off (the lights stopped flashing) I shut the door and inserted the key in the drivers side key hole, locked the car using the key, unlocked it the same way, opened the door, and the alarms hasn't come back on since. I'm baffled.

I put the anti theft fuse back on but I was in hurry to get to my sisters house so I didn't put the horn fuse back on. BIG MISTAKE

For those who had seen Final Destination 2, I was going down the highway and there was a semi full of lumber chained down to the flatbed in front of me. Being in the middle lane of a 3 lane highway, I was thinking this is kinda like Final Destination 2 and at the point as I was thinking a little sH#t of a saturn whippes around me in the right lane with a huge trailer attached to it and cuts me off. I COULDN'T USE MY HORN BECAUSE SOME DUMBASS FORGOT TO PUT THE FUSE BACK IN. But no big deal, I just backed off a little bit. Then this dumba$$ of a hick in a silverado whippes around me in the left lane that was about to end cuts me off as well. In fact, the left lane did end and the silervado was now on the left shoulder trying to get over before that ended and about clipped me. Almost hit my front bumper. Can you imagine, the only time I didn't put the horn in is when I encounter the MOST STUPID F##CKING PEOPLE IN THE HISTORY OF THE MOST STUPID F##CKING PEOPLE.

Needless to say I was with my wife and she was screaming at me to pull over and put the horn fuse back in. So I did, and this is my typical luck, afterwards all the MOST STUPID PEOPLE IN THE WORLD SEEMED TO VANISH FROM THE FACE OF EXISTENCE and I never had to use my horn for the rest of the day. How pissed would you be? be?

Yea, I went hornless for a day when mine broke. Somehow water gets in there and it rusted it clean out. It always seems like when you don't have a horn, the need to honk is greater than any other time.

Hey, I just wanted to give an update on this.

I went to the dealership (ugh) and bought one for $30 -- sort of needed it urgently. I installed it tonight and the alarm (so far) hasn't gone off. :thumb:

yeah i fyou ever have a prob again...there is a fuse for your anti theft...thas what i did..pulled that bish under that dash
