Well today i was driving to work...and out of nowhere the car started to jerk and sputter...then died about 1/2mile down the road from my house....i popped the hood made sure everything was on tight...mas wasnt loose or nothing....closed the hood...started it back up....ran fine...till about 5 mins later....going down the road...goto shift into 5th gear 60mph....car died completly scared the crap out of me....This time i got suspicious....i have no spark on any cylinders...so i thought maybe i got a faulty walbro pump...had a friend turn the key on...i hear the pump pushing fuel...so its getting fuel..then i goto start the car...and now its dead for good...wont start at all..i believe the problem is spark...only problem is...i dont know where to start....can you guys lead me the way...any help would be appreciated thanx guys.

No spark. Check the following CAS I've seen several of these go bad including mine. Make sure you have voltage where it's supposed to be. Check all fuses. Do you have a schematic? I recommend very highly a "factory" service manual. I have seen a few transistors go bad but not many. Do you have access to an oscilloscope or scanner? Does your tach needle move when you crank over? A dead tach needle while cranking can mean the cas has given up the ghost. Try these and post your results.

the wires are brand new accel 8.5MM wires...plugs are in good condition...there NGK BPR7ES...alternator works...charging the battery at 13.9 volts...fuses all good too...i dont knwo how to check the coil tho..

guys I just went outside and cranked the car over...and looked at the tach while doing so....the needle didnt move at all...its 100% dead...didnt come off 0 at all....How sure can i be its the CAS?...If it was wouldnt it throw a code? Also how would the CAS affect the needle from jumping off 0? I hope this narrowed my problem....Can i say for sure its my cas now?

Nothing is sure till it runs. If you have a friend who has a similar car that runs, using a known good component try it in your car. If your car then runs then there you are. The CAS tells the engine when to fire. You lose that and you have no fire. The reason I asked about the tach needle is a way of trying to figure out what went wrong. Sometimes the problem could be the PCM caps. If you don't have a scope to check the wave form of the cas you will have to try a known good one.

If the cas was bad...would it throw a code? Also are the turbo and non-turbo cam position sensors the same throughout all years...or are they different?

I just went outside and tested the CAS harness with the key on just like the chiltons says to do....here are the results which it failed horribly...results are stated as followed...black wire(closest to the right) 0.04, red wire 0.04, black wire 0.006, white wire 0.006.. stock voltages should be red wire 12 volts, black wire 0V, white wire 5V plus or minus, white wire 5V plus or minus...So all in all im not getting any voltages to my CAS harness...would this mean my CAS sensor is bad....or would this mean my ECU is bad b/c its not sending out any voltages?

what does CAS mean?
