hey guys im new to the board. i have a 90gsx little wight removed exhuast, filter B/C car went 12's im looking to upgrade turbo to a big 16g or 18g or maybe even a t3/t4.

which turbo would be better car will be street driven.

and what would i need to complete this, should i recirulate the BOV or leave it to the atmosphere?

i also have a new front mount 26x3x12

thanks guys

matt

well the 16g would be the msopt streetable...but either of those turbos can be streetable it all matters on tunning and supporting mods. But IMHO the 16g would be the easiest to make streetable.

18g is a waste of money, just go 20g for less money and more potential

16g is a mild upgrade from the 14b, hardly worth the extra money

50 trim is a VERY streetable turbo

these are just my opinions. Your time and money!!:thumb:

I know about the 18g...but why is 250cfms not worth 500 bucks? I mean I know about how the 14b can be incredible...but why would it be a waste?

Because he is already equiped with a 14b and AWD, it is being proven everyday that the turbo is really going places. 14b times are getting better everyday. :thumb:

Now if it was my car I would find a used 14b or 16g and be happy either way (see above statement). The 16g HAS gone 12's in a FWD 2g before so it is not a complete waste. But in terms or pulling a 14b and buying a 16g to replace it, I think it would be an OK mod.

I don't have any hatred for the 16g lineup. I would just keep the 14b and go from there. Money saved in one place can be used other places!:thumb:

Never said waste just said hardly worth the money. All good though.

You decide:

12.009 113.32 7.681 90.68 1.715 90 Talon TSi 14b Phil Beers
11.825 115.39 7.547 92.26 1.728 92 TSi RST S 16g Curtis Miska
11.578 117.80 7.446 94.29 1.659 92 LAS RST B16g Jorin Hardwick
11.286 122.95 9.394 93.75 1.711 91 GSX PTE 50 Kevin Smith
11.278 122.63 7.292 97.82 1.749 90 Talon Tsi 20g Andy Nash

Hey I know what you mean bro...there are many 14bs on this site alone that are tapping into the 11s. I was just answering his question syaing of the three the 16g is the most streetable...but I do agree with you on the 14b.

There are a couple of guys including myself who have this turbo.

Some say they like it, even though full spool isnt till 3700-3800 rpms. I do not like that.

It uses a 10cm^2 turbine housing, which makes it laggier than a normal 16g. More top end power, but more lag. I never really have plans to take my car to the strip, so a high end is not needed for me. Id rather be able to romp around town, with minimal lag.

something to think about.

personally i would rather have the super 16g over an 18g specially since you could convert it to a super 20g later on :dsm:
